At the Declare-it Round Tables, Declare-it customers will in future be able to benefit regularly from in-depth customs and product-specific topics. The first round table on the topic of "Dutax - working with the Trust Center" took place last Wednesday.

The Economic Partnership Agreement between the EFTA (European Free Trade Association) and Indonesia will enter into force on 1 November 2021. The agreement is intended to stimulate trade relations between the EFTA states and Indonesia.

Following the Council of States, the National Council has now also voted in favour of the abolition of industrial tariffs in the autumn session. With this decision, import duties on industrial products can be reduced to zero.

At this year's Solution Days, SISA announced the new release Declare-it V4.2. Information on the customs project DaziT and the new goods traffic system Passar brought the interested participants up to date.

Since 15 March 2021, Switzerland has also been participating in the Import Control System 2 (ICS2) of the European Union (EU). This is based on a provisionally applied amendment to the Agreement on the simplification of customs formalities and on Customs security measures.

The FCA is reaching its limits in implementing the new customs procedure Passar. The replacement of e-dec Import will therefore probably not take place before 1.1.2025.

As of 1.1.2022, a revision of the internationally harmonised list of goods of the WCO will come into force. The necessary adjustments to the Swiss customs tariff have been approved by the Federal Council. The purpose of the revision, which is carried out every five years, is based on technological progress and is intended to enable more informative statistics and better control of trade flows.

SISA is ready to start the implementation of the new software system Passar. We have already completed the first small programming tasks.

Following the conclusion of the consultation process with a total of more than a hundred responses,  the FCA is currently evaluating these and preparing a report to the Federal Council

Customs has provided information on various adjustments to customs procedures in the last few weeks.

SISA announces the new Trans-it version 2021. The new version offers a wide range of new functions and software enhancements that will make the daily work with Trans-it even more efficient.

The Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxes of the National Council (WAK-N) restarted the discussion about an abolition of industrial customs duties.

SISA successfully achieved ISO-27001 certification in March after 18 months of intensive preparation of the process design and documentation for an integrated and holistic Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Under the new name Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (Bundesamt für Zoll und Grenzsicherheit BAZG), the organisation of the FCA will be reorganised to meet the new requirements.

Relations between Switzerland and the United Kingdom (UK) are mainly based on the bilateral agreement with the EU, which could no longer be applied after a disorderly EU withdrawal without contract (no deal).
